Rickey "Hollywood" Hendon was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but he is a Chicago original through and through, a West Side fixture who has spent a lifetime in the spotlight. He earned the name Hollywood for a personality too big to sit still, the kind of presence that fills a room before he ever opens his mouth. Across public life, the screen, and the printed page, he has always been a performer at heart. Today that same energy lives inside the music.

Before the stage shows, Hendon built a reputation as one of the most colorful and fearless voices in Illinois politics, serving as a State Senator, then carried that boldness into acting and into authoring two books of his own.
